Unpunctuated Punctuation 2022

Unpunctuated Punctuation is a series of ten soft pastel works exploring the emotional possibilities of punctuation marks. Each piece interprets a symbol not as grammar, but as feeling — pauses, hesitations, interruptions, and the quiet spaces between thoughts. Through colour and form, the series gives emotional weight to marks that usually go unnoticed, turning written pauses into visual expressions of mood and movement.

I created these ten works over four months. This series took time because translating punctuation into emotion isn’t simple — I had to feel each feeling in my own life before I could express it. Every mark comes from real pauses, real hesitations, and real moments where I stopped to understand myself.

This series continues my practice of mapping inner landscapes, distilling emotion into the smallest marks of pause and breath.
