Painting

Created during lockdown in January 2021, this series began as a daily 6am ritual. Each morning, I prepared a new surface by gessoing repurposed Lipton and Twinings tea boxes, then painted one monochromatic abstract study with my non‑dominant hand in a single sitting.

The repetition formed a quiet structure. Working with limited materials, a restricted palette, and an unfamiliar hand opened a slower, more attentive way of seeing. These small works map inner terrain through disciplined gestures made in a period when stillness was the only available space.

This series extends my ongoing practice of tracing inner landscapes — revealing what becomes visible when attention is slowed, repeated, and allowed to deepen over time.

Acknowledgement of Country

I acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land where I live and create. I pay my respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Land never ceded.
